Community Action Outreach Services
We started CAOS in 2010 to provide support services to the local community in Oldham in response to identified needs of local people.
We wantto offer accessible, affordable resources, in particular to those in Oldham with low income, especially in light of the developing economic climate creating greater needs locally.
Our aim at CAOS is to develop community services and inter-dependent support from the private sector, voluntary and statutory sectors too, working together for the benefit of our local communities in and around Oldham
Our new students on placement for 2012 are:
* Sue Dean
*Joanne Lees
*Theresa Hampson
Once they start with us, you can find out more and meet them at events and forums CAOS will be involved with.
Not chaos but CAOS, which has a new status this year 2012 from a Community Interest Company in 2010 we are now running as a community group - by the community, for the community.
CAOS can offer Personal Counselling with student counsellors on placement with CAOS at just £5 to cover admin costs (and donations/funding are always welcome too). Services from a qualified counsellor (or life coaching) is just £15 an hour instead of regular £35 average charge in private practice.
CAOS can also offer workshops or presentations (run alongside Clear Mind Coaching & Counselling) covering topics relating to Personal Awareness and Development (skills , knowledge, confidence, experience) which can improve your situation and future outlook (£10 for 2 hour workshops or £7 for 1.5 hour information events).
Some free information events have and will be held around Oldham, offering tips and ideas to the public and have been very popular with the public and agencies.
Social groups (see below) and business groups are also accessible.
(Respecting our Communities Award from First Choice Homes)
CAOS has received some money to suport the service provisions we provide, in particular the workshops and student counsellor placements, as well as support with marketing and promotions too, for 2012.
